Production Association "Slava" produces a variety of products: men's wristwatches in 45 designs and women's wristwatches in 61 designs; alarm clocks in 67 designs; watches for various purposes, high precision, various sizes and for various operating conditions.
The most diverse are women's watches, which are produced in various sizes and shapes - rectangular, square, oval, round, different design styles, chrome and gold-plated; different color and graphic solutions for cases, dials, hands. In addition to wristwatches, pendant watches are produced, which are not inferior to jewelry.
Men's wristwatches are just as diverse, which are distinguished by the presence of additional devices - watches are produced with a calendar, with an indicator of the date and day of the week, with automatic winding. For lovers of swimming, underwater athletes, watches are produced in a special waterproof case.
Alarm clocks - one of the most popular modern watches are produced in two types: small-sized mechanical and more accurate electronic-mechanical, working throughout the year without changing the battery. They are produced in a wide range, with various design styles that harmoniously combine with the interiors of modern apartments and office premises. In addition to household clocks, the Slava production association produces a large number of watches and time devices for specific purposes: the most important of them are stopwatches-chronoscopes for measuring short time intervals - independent devices for sports, industrial, scientific and other timekeeping.
For those who need particularly precise time, the association produces wristwatches with high accuracy electronic-mechanical chronometers that operate for a year from one electric battery. The watches are based on a precision high-frequency tuning fork generator.
The products of the association enjoy a well-deserved reputation in our country and abroad. The Slava brand has become a symbol of high quality, reliability and elegance of watches, many of which have been awarded the State Quality Mark. At international shows and fairs, watches with the Slava brand have been awarded diplomas. On all continents, in more than 70 countries of the world, they buy Slava watches.
Modern watchmaking is a complex of specific problems associated with the micro-miniature sizes of watch parts, strict tolerances on their sizes, increased requirements for the quality of their processing and coating.
Progressive modern technology, special materials with special predetermined properties, highly accurate automated and automatic equipment, scientific organization of labor - these are the main "secrets" of the successful solution of these problems in the association.
From the usual mechanization and automation of individual production operations, the association is increasingly moving to the use of automatic lines that carry out the entire cycle of manufacturing watch parts, and then to the creation of complex-mechanized and complex-automated sections and workshops for the assembly of individual watch units and watches.
This process covers all stages of watchmaking. High-precision longitudinal turning automatic machines are successfully used in the preparation section, the pressing equipment is equipped with automatic loading devices. The most automated section is the production of watch parts: automatic lines for processing mainspring barrels, wheels, watch plates, bridges, cases - the main parts of watches; the fleet of gear-cutting machines and installations for washing and galvanic processing of parts are automated.
Extensive automation of this stage of watchmaking, allowing to obtain parts and units with stable geometric dimensions, provides conditions for efficient assembly and significantly improves the quality of watches. Particular attention is paid to the mechanization and automation of the final stage of watchmaking - assembly and adjustment of watches. Automated and automatic machines perform such precise operations of wristwatch assembly as assembling the pinion-wheel unit, pressing stones and pins into plates and bridges; fully assembled wheel systems of women's wristwatches and large-sized electronic alarm clocks. Special mechanized tables for watch assembly, equipped with a large number of assembly devices, improve the quality and productivity of final operations on watch assembly conveyors.
A modern enterprise requires a modern form of management. The association has implemented and is improving an automated production management system (APMS). The basis of the system is an information and computing center that solves the problems of detailed production planning, material resource costs, operational accounting and a number of others; at any time it can issue objective information necessary for the administration to manage the enterprise.
The rapid pace of modern technical progress daily brings innovations in the field of watchmaking and technology, in the field of watch production organization. The search for new ideas, new technical solutions allows the association to keep up with progress. The services of the chief designer, chief technologist, specialized laboratories, the department of mechanization and automation of production, a huge army of inventors and innovators are working hard to create new designs of watches, to improve technological processes of equipment and organization of production.
In the work on creation and development of new technology, the association closely cooperates with the research institute, with design bureaus and other enterprises of the watch industry, with a number of specialized scientific and design organizations of other industries, with the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and many higher educational institutions of the country. The association maintains close scientific and technical ties with watch enterprises of socialist countries, with the largest world watch and machine-tool firms; takes an active part in international, all-Union and industry scientific and technical conferences on problems of watch technology and watch production.
During the ninth five-year plan alone, the association developed and mastered more than 80 designs of mechanisms and external designs of wristwatches and more than 50 designs and external designs of alarm clocks. Among the plant's new developments are designs of men's wristwatches with a double calendar, with a double calendar and automatic winding, wrist electronic-mechanical tuning fork watches with a single and double calendar, a promising design of wrist electronic quartz watches with a stepper motor. Technology is being intensively updated and new automated and automatic equipment is being developed. Over the past decade, a number of new highly efficient technological processes have been developed and implemented: cutting gear teeth and pinions by the rolling method, manufacturing watch plates on multi-position aggregate machines, manufacturing bridges directly in the tape, etc. Progressive methods of selective assembly are being widely introduced in the association.
During the ninth five-year plan alone, more than 300 units of various equipment were developed and introduced, including 8 automatic lines, more than 50 assembly machines for assembling watch components, a number of machining machines, and a set of machines for assembling alarm clocks. The production management system is constantly being improved, and the introduction of automated control systems is expanding. Thus, in 1973, the second electronic computer was put into operation. For the first time in the watch industry, invoicing machines with punch attachments and production recorders were introduced into the automated control system.
The success of the association in creating new equipment and technology, in improving watch production is due to the great work of the plant's inventors and innovators. During the ninth five-year plan, about five thousand rationalization proposals were submitted: the economic effect of their implementation exceeded 1.4 million rubles. The association has created all the conditions for developing the inquisitive minds of inventors, for raising the technical level of workers. The plant's technical library contains 91.8 thousand volumes of books and regularly receives all the latest domestic and foreign literature in the field of watch technology and production.
The high quality of the association's products is the result of the team's hard work in implementing a comprehensive quality assurance and control system. The quality assurance and control system covers all phases of watch production: from procurement shops to control and testing stations that carry out the final inspection of finished products. In the manufacture of watch parts and assemblies, statistical methods for monitoring the main parameters are used, and an acceptable level of product quality is established for the most critical parts and assemblies.
Along with the use of advanced universal control means, the association constantly introduces special mechanized and automated devices for quality control of the wheel system, calendar device, automatic winding unit and other units. The most important stage is the quality control of finished products, which is comprehensive. It is based on multi-day 100% control of watch accuracy in special control and testing stations. Multifaceted selective quality control of finished products is continuously carried out according to estimated numbers that take into account additional characteristics of watch accuracy (isochronous, positional, temperature errors).
To control the operation of watches under conditions reflecting the possible conditions of their use at the consumer, the association introduces methods of dynamic testing of watches on special simulators. Since 1964, the association has had a system of defect-free production and its delivery to the quality control department upon first presentation. The introduction and development of a system for defect-free production contributes to the active participation of the team in the fight for quality. The implemented and developing system of quality management of labor and production plays a significant role in solving the quality problem. The result is the generally recognized high quality of watches. During the years of the ninth five-year plan alone, 18 models of the association's watches were awarded the "Quality Mark". At the Leipzig International Fair in 1964, the electronic wristwatch was awarded a large gold medal, and in 1974, at the Brno Fair, the men's wristwatch with a double calendar won a gold medal. The "Slava" watches were also awarded with high awards at many international shows and competitions in different countries of the world.
Over half a century of history, an excellent team has formed in the association - one of the most advanced teams among the capital's enterprises. The team has repeatedly become the initiator of patriotic initiatives aimed at the early fulfillment of state planning tasks. For high performance in work, hundreds of workers and employees of the association were awarded orders and medals of the Soviet Union. The plant is proud of the Hero of Socialist Labor Pokhmelnova A. M., delegate of the XXIV Congress of the CPSU Andreeva E. S., youth mentors Sibiryakov V. N., Kisarova A. P. and many other leading workers. They tirelessly pass on their rich experience and skills to young workers.
The association has a branch of the instrument-making faculty of the All-Union Correspondence Machine-Building Institute, a department of the Instrument-making Technical School, and a school for working youth. Two vocational schools train watchmakers. The association's shops have all the conditions for creative and productive work: plenty of light, air conditioning, comfortable workplaces equipped in accordance with the requirements of organomics, functional music, industrial gymnastics. Particular attention is paid to the health of the plant's workers and their rest. The association has a well-equipped polyclinic with specialized rooms. The canteen provides workers and employees with varied and tasty food. Fresh vegetables for the canteen are grown in the factory subsidiary farm.
Every year about three thousand workers and employees of the plant rest in sanatoriums, rest homes, and tourist centers. On the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus, in the picturesque place of Vardane near the city of Sochi, there is a boarding house of the association "Slava". At the same time, 200 people can rest here. Nearby, a sanatorium building for 500 people is being built. In the most beautiful corners of the Moscow region, the workers of the association have gardening cooperatives "Mir" and "Druzhba". Large-scale housing construction allows hundreds of families of the association's workers to celebrate housewarming every year. The children of workers and employees are fully provided with kindergartens and nurseries, and in the summer - country cottages and pioneer camps.
Health and sports are inseparable, so much attention is paid to sports. The sports hall of the association is at the service of athletes - one of the best in the capital. The water base has all the conditions for water sports: there are sailboats and yachts, its own "big fleet" - boats and motor ships. The athletes of the association are known not only outside the plant, but also outside the capital. The factory rugby team "Slava" plays in the national championship, and the youth team is the 1975 USSR champion in rugby among young men.
Among those who assemble "Slava" watches, there are many young people. The recreation and cultural growth of the young generation is a special concern of the association. There are amateur art clubs, in which more than 1000 people are involved. Participants in amateur art have repeatedly been noted at city and all-Union competitions.
